Johnny Cueto is a Giant

That's what Buster Olney of ESPN just tweeted --

He's got a 25.9 WAR over eight seasons, Baseball Reference says. The last game he pitched a two-hitter complete game in Game 2 of the World Series.

He's been in the bigs for eight years and is only 29. I'm sure that everyone will make the observation that the Giants are gearing up for their even-year World Series appearance.

Here's the story on the Giants Web site --

The Giants have reached an agreement with free-agent right-hander Johnny Cueto, pending a physical, according to an ESPN report.
CBSSports.com reported the deal is for six years. The club has not confirmed or commented on the reports.

Cueto went 11-13 with a 3.44 ERA and 176 strikeouts in 212 innings for the Reds and Royals in 2015. The 29-year-old had posted a 2.48 ERA over the past four seasons for Cincinnati, finishing in the top four for the National League Cy Young Award twice.
