Ryan Lollis in the Orange and Black

I stumbled into watching the 9th inning of today's blowout loss to the Nats, who hammered Bumgarner early and often.

Ryan Lollis made his MLB debut today and went 0-for-4, including a called strike 3 in the 9th. He did hit a couple of line drives, however, and he's been hitting .358 in the minors this year.

They tried another guy in the OF a few weeks ago -- Jarrett Parker, who went 1-for-9 with 5 Ks.

WASHINGTON — Rarely do 37th-round draft picks reach the majors after seven seasons in the minors. They usually resign themselves to other careers and hang up their spikes.
Ryan Lollis, the Giants’ newest outfielder, is an exception. Why?
“Grit, grinding, all that good stuff. That’s the kind of guy I am,” Lollis said as he donned a big-league jersey for the first time Friday at age 28.
