The Giants have signed a minor league contract for a Kensuke Tanaka, a 31-year-old second baseman who could become Marco Scutaro's backup
They've also signed righthanded reliever Mason Tobin to a minor league deal.
Tobin pitched in a grand total of 4 games in 2011 for the Rangers. That's the total of his MLB experience. I say that if the Giants are making a deal for him, they must have seen something they like.
