Pence promises more than .219

Hunter Pence admits to Chris Haft of mlb.com that he stunk after the trade. The thing was that us Giant fans didn't really notice, what with sweeping the World Series. His numbers in Philly were so good that his overall season was pretty decent; he drove in a pretty good number of runs and the team started playing so well after Melky got busted. 

Baseball Reference has him with a WAR between 2.2 and 3.7 in all six years between 2006 and 2011 before falling to 0.8 last year. I'd like to think last season was an anomaly. He's only 30.  

I'm amused that he and Pagan both got 1 vote in the MVP voting last season.
