Greinke signs for more than Matt Cain
Peter Gammons writes a long post about the deal and the rising prices that are being offered. I don't know about you, but this deal by the Dodgers for Zack Greinke -- 6 years at $140 million -- makes the Giants deal for Matt Cain (6 years for $127 mil) seem like a bargain.
The Yankees of the West are here to SPEND. The fact that the Giants have won two World Series in 3 years must drive them nuts.
Greinke has a 29.5 WAR -- though more than a third of that is from his Cy Young season in 2009. He racked up a 3.3 last year splitting time between the Brew Crew and the Angels.
