Your young San Francisco Giants

"It's great to be young and a Giant" -- Larry Doyle, circa 1911. The Giants would win pennants in 1911, 1912 and 1913.

A century and a year later after that fine quote, Madison Bumgarner and Brandon Belt delivered a nice 6-1 beatdown of the Nats that should have put the memory of last night's embarrassment into the the rearview mirror.

Bumgarner has now won 13 at the tender age of 23. He won a World Series game two years ago and has become damn dependable.

As for Belt, it's looking like he's finally in the same good groove again. Perhaps hitting in back of Hunter Pence is the secret or just getting enough ABs. Crazy Crabbers has a nice post about Belt.

Belt already has a 1.6 WAR this year.
