Cody and the Bosox

Our old pal Cody Ross seems to be doing pretty well in Beantown, as us old timers call it, after being pretty lousy in the Orange and Black last year. He's had 18 HRs and 58 RBIs, playing half his games in a park that inflates right-handed stats. Baseball Reference says he has a 1.6 WAR so far this year.

Meanwhile, the Hunter Pence deal hasn't looked very good so far. He's batting .149 after going 7 for 47 with no HRs, 9 RBIs and 1 walk. It's a line that's somewhat similar to Aubrey Huff, who is at .148 after 61 at bats. Huff does have 12 walks, though

I still think Pence will do better than Ross would have done. I'm a little concerned about his inability to get a walk from time to time. As a fan, it's hard to be patient about a new guy during the second week of August when every game's importance is magnified.
