After watching Pablo Sandoval strike out on an eye-level pitch last night with two guys on base, I wondered -- who are the leaders in walks for the Orange and Black?
The answer -- Gregor Blanco with 26 and Brandon Belt with 25, followed by Posey with 21 and Cabrera with 18. Sandoval has nine. In case any is wondering why stat geeks like Belt so much ....
That's not out of the norm from his career -- he only had 32 walks in all of last year and 144 in a total of 2,000 career plate appearances. Baseball Reference calculates he's has 1.0 offensive WAR this year and a -0.7 defensive WAR.
