Andrew Baggarly is reporting that the Giants' average for RISP -- runners in scoring position -- is awful at .173. That's the same as last year.

The .173 RISP avg is just a sliver of the issue. Small Ball is not the answer. Long Ball is. Always has been, and more than likely will continue to be (see Cards and Giants WS last 2 years.
Particularly since its getting scarcer. Quick read about Giants winning with power. throughout their 54 seasons
