Another SPSOW (Giants starter skunked out of win)
Perhaps it's time to create a new category -- SPSOW.
All-Star Ryan Vogelsong is the latest Giants starting pitcher to get skunked out of a win, thanks to a horrific error by Miguel Tejada plus a meltdown by the pen plus an extraordinary catch by Ryan Raburn in the 8th.
Chris Haft's game story for mlb.com indicates that Tejada's error was the turning point. I'm not sure why Bochy feels a need to keep giving Tejada ABs -- maybe it was last night's grand slam -- when he's so limited on defense. I would hope that he'll get fewer when Mike Fontenot's back.
Bochy mentioned the error in his postgame interview on Comcast and said this one was "real tough" to lose.
