Miggy in the Orange and Black
Well, that didn't take long. It's a one-year deal for $6.5 million, according to ESPN Deportes. The Giants have posted the story on their site.
He had an awesome stretch between 1999 and 2006. I can't help but be impressed that he had 150 RBIs in 2004 with Baltimore. ARod is the only guy since then who's had more with 156 in 2007.
Tejada's 2004 is the 43rd highest RBI season of all time.
Mel Ott is the Giants franchise RBI leader with 151 in 1929, followed by 142 by the Baby Bull in 1961 and 141 by The Greatest Giant of Them All in 1962.
Back to the present -- This shows me that the Giants have zilch confidence that Emmanuel Burriss is an MLB starter and can stay healthy. Andrew Baggarly notes in his story for the Merc-News that Burriss has broken his foot twice in the past two years.

Let's see if he can jump in the Wayback Machine & do it again.
Great comment, I laughed out loud. Maybe Sabean has a Wayback Machine hidden somewhere under the stadium ... or maybe he's thinking that having Miggy out at short will make Zito feel like he's the same guy who won the Cy Young with the A's....
