Nine swings, nine misses
Henry Schulman of the SF Chron points out that Lincecum got an astounding nine swings, nine misses in the second inning.
Here's the video of the last swing in the second.
Given the stakes, Lincecum may have delivered the best pitching performance in Giants history. Maybe Marichal's 16-inning win over Spahn in 1963 was better...
Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury-News says in his postgame notes that the postseason debuts by Halladay and Lincecum were comparable to Babe Ruth's in 1916.
This is why I love the Baseball Reference site. Game 2 -- Bosox 2, Brooklyn Robins 1. Winning pitcher -- Ruth. 14 innings pitched, complete game vic, 6 hits allowed.

Mike Krukow on KNBR this morning gave big credit to Buster Posey, too: Called him the Dog Whisperer of catchers because of his ability to calm pitchers down and help them perform at their best.
Hope you get to hear Krukow from time to time; so thoughtful!
