The Orange and Black Cardiacs
That's our San Francisco Giants, who eked out a 5-4 win tonight at Mays Field over the Bosox as the pen tortured fans through the last innings of the game, Cash Kruth of mlb.com notes.
Stats of the game -- the Giants took two walks and the Sox took 10; Buster Posey breaks out of a 3-for-37 slump and goes 3-for-4.
Intriguing to me -- after Zito and Cain posted their worst starts of the year, the front office has decided to bring up Madison Bumgarner to start Saturday's game.

I doubt there's any connection, but rather that the Giants need to see if they need to try signing a fifth starter in the next month. If Bumgarner can do the job respectably, then Martinez or Wellemeyer can do long relief. If not, MB can be sent back to Fresno, and the Giants can meditate on Pedro Martinez, Kevin Millwood, maybe even Roy Oswalt to improve on Wellemeyer and/or J. Martinez as starter #5.
