Buster back in the Orange and Black

AOL Fanhouse is reporting this morning that the Giants have brought him up and that he will be used at first base with Aubrey Huff moving to left. It doesn't say which of the remaining OF starters (Torres, Rowand, Schierholtz, Bowker) will sit but my guess would be Schierholtz and Bowker, given Bochy and Sabean's preference for vets.

The reporter, Ed Price, doesn't address Bengie Molina's slump. He's gone 2 for 30 and hasn't had an RBI since May 6. I attended the Thursday and Friday games and he looked awful at the plate. Edwin Jackson was bringing 95 mph heat last night, which can make anyone look overmatched, so I am hoping that Bengie's not done but those were bad at bats. Plus, he was unable to catch a high pop up later in the game -- a sign that he may be coming to the end of the line.

Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury-News posted late last night that this was going to happen but didn't name a source. He said Molina's playing so poorly that Buster might get some starts at catcher but not when Lincecum and Sanchez start. I'm pretty sure that Eli Whiteside usually starts when Jonathan pitches.
