Formerly great
There's an old joke about a tennis match where -- after the announcer's introduced the two players as former winner of this tournament and that and as a former member of the Davis Cup team -- one loudmouth says, "Formerly, this would have been a great match."
What made me think of that is that Scott Williamson's just signed a minor league deal with the Orange and Black.
He was an All-Star and Rookie of the Year in 1999 with hard stuff, including a splitter. Two years later, he had Tommy John surgery. Little surprise to me, then, that a front office that's constantly looking to the past would opt to sign a guy who's best days are way behind him.
Just the same, best of luck to you, Scott.

Big D, I think you could use that "formerly" label for a lot of Giants during the past few years. Funny post.
