Fun with Buttmando Blownitez!

Amidst a discussion over Blownitez' role, a poster named PacBellBoozer posted this at McCovey Chronicles with the comment -- I'm more troubled that nobody else noticed his new after-workout snack sponsor.
I'm laughing every time I look at it.

I enjoy your blog, and particularly appreciate your critiques of the press.
On another topic, I find many 'sports fans' to be unbelievably immature. I am not a proponent of going to a game to rag on a player or players. I appreciate their skill, I love the complexity of baseball and love to see it well played. I am also quite aware how far we, as fans, are from the real goings on - which is why the many sites and blogs are so helpful.
So, I am not in favor of fandom turning their ire against a player - T Hardaway, J Rocker and T Owens being notewrthy exceptions. I am fully aware that Benitiez and Feliz both had exceptionally poor years. And Benitez said some pretty immature things. But I do not think it is the fan's place to drive him out of town. I think we should wait, see how ST goes. If Sabean wants to trade him fine. If he performs well, I am in favor of the players - the team - deciding. If he makes amends, if they give him another chance, that's good enough for me.
I am troubled to see that the majority have already decided to crucify the guy based soleley on 7 blown saves - and his reported comments. Now, if you read Draper's article, he was not in good health at anytime last year. This is not surprising, given the severity of his very unusual injury. And precisely for that reason, that we didn't know the conditions that he was facing, I think we know far too little to make a judgment.

That's an excellent comment, Allfrank, and the truth is that his trade value is so low right now that the Giants are probably stuck with him. That said, it is frustrating to see that he hasn't bothered to lose any weight.

I have never EVER booed a Giant, by the way.

My understanding is that he has lost some weight, just not enough. I agree it is kind of frustrating. But it may be that his rehab of the arthritis kept him from extensive, exhaustive workouts - making losing weight more difficult. I saw a photo of him on a blog yesterday and he looked thinner than last year.
