The other Alfonzo

Once the Angels cut him loose after he went 5-for-50, I thought Edgardo's MLB career would be over, but he's now stinking up the joint in Toronto as a second baseman, where he's gone 4-for-28. Of course, all four hits are singles. In last night's game, the Jays pinch hit for him in the 6th with Frank Catalonatto, who singled in a run to cap a 3-run rally, then subbed in Luis Figueroa at 2B. Luis is 1-for-9 this year. Apparently, it's all part of some desperate plan to get Aaron Hill switched from 2B to SS.

Meanwhile, Brian Sabean still looks smart for ditching Elfatso for Steve Finley, who's batting .256 with 2 HRs, 26 RBIs in 176 ABs. He also still leads MLB in triples with 8. And the new Alfonzo is 4-for-15 with 3 RBIs along with scoring the winning run last night.
